Martine Hansen visited the Consumer law clinic
The Minister for Consumer Protection, Martine Hansen, visited the Consumer law clinic at the University of Luxembourg.
Welcomed by academic authorities, including Mr Arnaud Dupuy, Vice-Dean, Mr Herwig Hofmann, Head of the Law Department, and Ms Elise Poillot, Professor of Civil Law and Director of the Clinic, the Minister had the opportunity to discover in detail the innovative workings of this institution.
The Clinic stands out for its practical approach and its teaching system inspired by the American model, adapted to the Luxembourg context. One aspect emphasized is the practical training of students in legal advice, notably through interviews with real consumers, where they provide legal advice.
During her visit, the Minister also met with students, who shared their enriching experiences. This interaction was particularly interesting and instructive for all involved.
It was decided that dialogue and exchange between the Clinic and the Directorate for consumer protection will be strengthened. This informal collaboration should prove beneficial to both parties, enabling the sharing of expertise and a better understanding of consumer protection issues.
Martine Hansen congratulated the management of the University of Luxembourg on this initiative, which promotes legal education and strengthens consumer protection in Luxembourg.
